The AR animation is available on mobile devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the shoe scan shown above and my friend complaining about the quality of the shoe laces, I decided to experiment a bit. I had already simulated a simple knot in Rhino \/ Grasshopper with Kangaroo but that was a round section which is not very difficult to set up. My goal however was something like a flat webbing with a rectangular cross section. To get the topology as real as possible, I scanned a knot made of foam rubber about 5 times larger than actual shoe laces. I rebuilt the mesh in Rhino and ran a Kangaroo simulation with collision goals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
