Kozakov World Cup

I knew it was going to rain and I could have stayed at home to take care of my sore throat.

But I still went to Kozakov and enjoyed three really fast and dry runs on the first practise session. Unfortunately that was it for me cause I do not ride in the rain.

Qualifying was held on a shortened track under rainy and misty conditions. I understand that even a slow run would have been my ticket for the main race which was going to be in the dry, however motivation just wasn't there. Michael Oury also didn't ride in the rain and drove back home on Friday night. I decided to accompany him. It's better to be at home than staying at a race without competing.

Congrats to Patrick Switzer for winning both timetrials and the race.
Insul World Cup

The event started with a one hour delay due to issues with the walkie talkie system. I even did some runs in the wet, however I still know that rain riding isn't as much fun as it could be in the dry. Timetrials started at least one hour late due to problems with the timing system, as if this was the first time setting it up... Waited two hours to start my run and then saw a yellow flag just a few hundred meters after the start. There was a motorbike coming up the course. Great! My second go was good. Anger made me push like a machine. Placed second in the timetrials without pushing or wiggling after corner 3. The second timetrial didn't change much, almost everyone lost roughly 1 second compared to the first day of qualifying. My race ended in the round of 32 where Mischo took me out from behind. I think in every other run people got taken out... what a circus! Oh, that's what YOU call racing? Really? Good luck!

PS: Walked the plus 300 m handrail around the soccer field. Experienced tunnel vision for the first time in my life ever... What a feeling!

Congrats to Patrick Switzer for winning both timetrials and the race - again...
16 hairpins in one run...

is not like 45 hairpins in half an hour but more than enough for sure. I'm glad to live in the country with the best roads.

The best roads!

Ever!

As you might have realized, I cancelled the Eurotrip 11 after the first two world cups. The season has been frustrating so far. After a decade of competing all around the world I decided to finally quit from downhill skateboard racing. I want to thank my family, sponsors, friends and everyone else who has helped me achieve my goals! It was a crazy experience!

Downhill skateboarding is the best thing ever and I'll keep riding as long as there's gravity!
