Damian Andrey
Damian holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest speed on a streetluge (163.88 km/h). The fusion of this body scan into a watertight, 3D printable model was demanding since the bottom / back side of his body were difficult to capture in the lying position. The Rogers Brothers luge with fairings was scanned separately.…

Sphere sanding machine
I had a handful of custom Balancemaster balls cast at AEND using a self made ceramic mold which unfortunately broke a few times during the process. Most of the balls had severe flatspots and would be no fun at all to use with a Balancemaster. I learned about centerless grinding and started planning my own…

Pete Connolly
With an impressive speed of 146.73 km/h, Pete holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest speed standing on a downhill skateboard. In search of improvements we developped fairings for his Sabre longboard trucks. Pete spent quite some time in a wind tunnel and eventually got some help from SimScale, a company which offers an…

Cheeta volumes
In addition to a rework of the entire line of volumes I got to complement Laurent Laporte’s newly designed crack system. And the famous balls or “tranches d’oranges” needed to be resized for better fit when stacked. All volumes got a fresh number. Sizes and angles were exported into a huge Excel sheet. For better…

Cheeta Wood Boomerangs
The masters were hand shaped by Laurent Laporte and I got to do the scans with my Artec Eva. The result of a scan is usually a dense mesh consisting of a lot of tiny triangles. In order to provide clean surfaces for CNC machining these holds out of solid beech, the meshes were remeshed…

Meiringen Boulder World Cup Wall
In 2017 I got the chance to develop and design a modular competition wall for the Meiringen Boulder World Cup and the National Training Center of the Swiss Alpine Club. The simple design offers maximum freedom for the setters, allowing the placement of big features and volumes. The sectors of the wall are large enough…

Ensphere Dome Model
During my employement at Häring & Co. AG between 2014 and 2017, I got to build some really amazing models of building structures. This particular dome model is assembled of mostly hexagonal laser sintered parts which have been glued into one single object and covered with a translucent twill fabric.
